George Michael, né le 25 juin 1963 à Finchley au Nord-Ouest de Londres, Angleterre et mort le 25 décembre 2016, de son vrai nom Georgios Kyriákos Panayótou (en grec Γιώργος-Κυριάκος Παναγιώτου), est un auteur-compositeur-interprète anglais d'origine chypriote grecque. Il a vendu plus de 85 millions de disques dans le monde et détient à son actif 11 singles et 7 albums n°1 dans les charts britanniques, et 6 singles n°1 aux États-Unis. Vie personnelle & Carrière L'Avant « Wham! » : Georgios Kyriákos Panayótou Georgios Kyriákos Panayótou est né au nord-ouest de Londres le 25 juin 1963 d'une mère anglaise et d'un père d'origine grecque. Il prend rapidement un nom de scène, George Michael. Sa carrière commence en 1978 avec une bande de copains de collège: Andrew Ridgeley (futur Wham!), Paul Ridgeley (frère d'Andrew), Andrew Leaver et David Mortimer (qui n'est autre que David Austin). Ensemble, ils fondent le groupe The Executive où George est à la fois compositeur et chanteur. Mais le succès n'est pas au rendez-vous et le groupe éclate. George et Andrew décident de continuer et rebaptisent le groupe Wham!. Les années « Wham! » En 1982, le monde découvre l'album Fantastic et succombe à la vague Wham! et à ses tubes Wham Rap ! (Enjoy What You Do ?) et Club Topicana. Le groupe est composé de George Michael et de son acolyte Andrew Ridgeley. Les succès s'enchaînent avec d'autres titres comme Bad Boys et Young Guns (Go For It !). Si Wham! se veut avant tout un groupe hédoniste (il arrive après la vague Punk), les messages étaient assez sociaux au départ puisque Wham Rap ! aborde le thème du chômage. En 1984, viendra l'album de la consécration Make It Big, qui contient plusieurs succès tels que Wake Me Up ...
