Modern Family and The Goldbergs actor Jackson Odell dies aged 20 Jackson Odell, who has starred in television shows such as Modern Family and The Goldbergs, died tragically at the age of 20. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that on Friday the actor was found unresponsive at his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Tarzana, California. While his cause of death is currently unknown, a source told TMZ that he was "in a sober home and that there were no signs of foul play." In a statement obtained by TMZ, his bereaved family said: "The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell. "He will always be a bright light and a bright, loving and talented soul." He had much more to share. "Our family will always carry that truth forward, and we want the rest of the world to do that, too." The statement concluded: "Now we are going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss in private." Jackson has several television credits under his name, including acting on the popular children's show iCarly, as well as the comedy Arrested Development. He was best known for his role in The Goldbergs as Ari Caldwell, starring multiple episodes from 2013 to 2015. He was also a singer and composer, and wrote the soundtrack for the movie Forever My Girl. One of his last interviews took place on the red carpet for the release of the film in January. He had been enthusiastic about the experience of working on the film on the red carpet, saying: "Writing from a real place is really important to me, whether it's about relationships, whether it's about redemption or catharsis or whatever.
