I did not grow up speaking Igbo. I am teaching myself. I did know a little bit of Igbo before I started my journey. Then, I took the Express Igbo class 3 times. My method is to listen to an Igbo podcast 3x a week, and transcribe it for 30 minutes. Then, read it and pick out some words that give me trouble to be my vocabulary words for the week. If you want to see my actual process the following videos show me going through the process: Day 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmWsej0yP8c&t=1660s Day 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghXWQ3VcDR0&t=153s Day 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_46A5dXYeQ&t=1342s Why am I teaching myself Igbo? My brand Nwudo is focused on helping indigenous communities to create using their own languages, symbols, stories and culture. At it's core, Nwudo, LLC is about diversity. Bringing the best part of ourselves to the table makes a stronger and more beautiful world. So, if I'm going to tell people to embrace their uniqueness, I guess I have to do it myself. My parents are from Africa and speak Igbo. So, I'm teaching myself even though I did not grow up speaking it. If you want to follow along with me on my journey. Check out my videos at go.nwudo.com/youtube. And if you just want to show your support, leave a like, share this video with friends who are looking for motivation to start learning an indigenous language And if you're feeling really generous, donate at patreon.com/nwudo. Thanks for watching. Hope to see you soon. Let me know if you are going on a language-learning journey as well! and why. Nwudo is a 3-part company comprising of Nwudo Labs, Nwudo & Nwudo Ed.
