I decided to harvest my Garlic tonight as it has developed rust and most had been blown over in the wind. I have two varieties Solent wight for the Larger bulbs and my own strain which I've been replanting from my own stored bulbs for the last few years. As you can see the soil is a heavy clay and given that this was only planted in April together with the wettest dullest Summer on record I was very pleased with the results. So it seems that Garlic with grow almost anywhere in any soils no matter the weather. Yet again thanks to Keefa aka Emottyville for providing the camerawork which makes it a bit more interesting than me just waffling towards a tripod.
