Ingredients to boil chole 1 katori/cup chole/garbanzo bean soaked in water overnight 4-5 tbsp chana dal/split bengal gram soaked in water over night 2 tsp tea leaves tied in a cotton cloth 2 bay leaves 2 black cardamom 4 cloves 1 inch cinnamon stick 3-4 green cardamom, lightly hammered 1 tsp salt 1 liter water to make chole 2 tbsp oil 1 med size chopped onion 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1 tsp roasted anardana/pomegranate seeds 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp amchur/mango powder 1 tsp roasted & ground jeera/cumin seed powder some pudina/mint leaves hara dhania/cilantro 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 tsp kala namak/black salt 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves 2 medium sized tomatoes, chopped after removing the skin for tadka/tempering the chole 1-2 tbsp oil 4-5 sliced green chillies 5-6 crushed garlic cloves 1/2 tsp roasted jeera powder 1/4-1/2 tsp red chilli powder some onion rings for garnishing Method 1. add the chole & chana dal to the pressure cooker. also add the salt, the tea pouch, black & green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves & bay leaves 2. add water & stir well then close the lid 3. put heat on high till the first whitle. then reduce heat to low & cook for 15 minutes more 3. remove from heat & let the pressure subside the open the cooker & check the chole. they will be soft 4. strain out the water & save it. remove the tea pouch & whole spices from the boiled chole 5. in a pan heat 2 tbsp on medium heat. when hot add the chopped onions & saute till light pink 6. add the ginger garlic paste & saute till light brown 7. add the chopped tomatoes & cook till soft. then reduce heat to low & add the coriander powder, garam masala, 1 tsp jeera powder, black salt, kasuri methi, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, amchur, anardana & some pudina 8. stir mix for about a minute then add the boiled chole. mix well & add some hara dhania and mix again 9. saute the chole for 2-3 minutes. now add the chole-dal water as much as you need & raise heat to medium. save any remaining chana-dal water for later use 10. mix well and let the water come to a boil. reduce heat to medium, cover with a lid & cook till chole turn thick stir it from time to time 11. when the chole are ready transfer it to a serving bowl and start making the tadka 12. in a tadka pan add 1 tbsp oil. when it heats up add the garlic & sliced green chillies & saute on low heat for about 30 seconds. add the roasted jeera powder & red chilli powder. saute till garlic is roasted brown 13. pour the ready tadka on the chole and garnish with some onion rings 14. serve the chole with bhature, launji, sliced onions & a green chilli Website: https://pammiskitchen.weebly.com Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/rajansinghjolly Twitter: https://twitter.com/rjnjlly Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/rjnjlly/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pammiskitchen/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pammiskitchen/ G+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100873983207468998210/ -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Sweet Milk Dalia Recipe | Shahi Milk Dalia | Meetha Dalia Kheer Recipe" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wiqc4ChjXaA -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
