Probably in my Top 25 favorite songs of all-time! And certainly one of my favorite blended songs ever made as well. This highly overlooked and immensely underrated, deep track(s) comes from CCR's "Willy and The Poorboys" 1969 album. A staple of Classic Rock albums if there ever was one, with many other forms of musical influences thrown into a number of the tracks, these two included for sure. Even with songs (some of them massive hits) like "Fortunate Son," "The Midnight Special," "It Came Out of The Sky," and "Down On The Corner," these two blended songs, in my humble opinion, are the two best on the entire album, no doubt about it! I always wondered why Oldies stations, Classic Rock stations, or just any radio station that would play eclectic music never gave "Poorboy Shuffle/Feelin' Blue" much radio airplay! Perhaps it was the length when you combine the two songs together, but then again, that's the way the songs are supposed to be heard: together as one! This is a great example of how back in the day, the albums meant so much more than they do today. The artists wanted their listeners to listen to the entire album from start to finish because lots of times the songs blended right into each other seamlessly. If you've never heard this before and enjoy Classic Rock, Blues, songs with the 'lickin' stick' featured heavily, R&B, and overall fun music, then you're in for a big treat with this one! Creedence truly is one of the all-time greatest/influential American bands/groups! Big shout out to Tom Petty and his "Buried Treasure" radio show on SiriusXM for giving this song the proper attention/airplay it so rightfully deserves! A timeless, and lost classic if there ever was one!
