Despite common disbelief Cottonmouths do NOT chase/attack people. If anything, they will try their best to escape. Wouldn't you be in fear if a large, pink blob was suddenly standing over you? They just see us as a potential predator, and only try to get away. However if you corner one or stand it its path it will DEFEND itself, NOT "attack".
