In this video, Wim Hof (The Netherlands) swam 57.5 m. (188 ft 6in) under ice in a lake near the Finnish village of Kolari on March 16, 2000. He did not make use of any special equipment, and wore only swimming trunks and a pair of goggles. The record now stands at 72m (236 ft 22in), and was acheived by Stig Åvall Severinsen (Denmark) in Knudssø, Ry, Denmark, on 6 March 2010.
