Five Finger Death Punch (parfois abrégé 5FDP) est un groupe de Metal américain basé à Los Angeles en Californie. Formé en 2005 par le guitariste d'origine hongroise Zoltán Báthory. Autour de Báthory le groupe se compose de Ivan L. Moody au chant, Jeremy Spencer à la batterie, Matt Snell à la basse et Jason Hook à la guitare. Le nom Five Finger Death Punch est une référence au cinéma de Kung-fu honkongais. Histoire : Début et The Way of the Fist (2005-2008) : Five Finger Death Punch se forme en 2005 par le guitariste Zoltan Bathory. Ce dernier s'entoure de l'ancien chanteur du groupe Motograter Ivan Moody, de l'ancien batteur de W.A.S.P. Jeremy Spencer, de Matt Snell à la basse et du guitariste Caleb Bingham. Rapidement Bingham est remplacé par le guitariste de W.A.S.P. Darrell Roberts qui à son tour quitte le groupe en 2007 remplacé par Jason Hook1. Le groupe enregistre son premier album en 2006, intitulé The Way of the Fist, avec Stevo Bruno (Motley Crue, Prong)et Mike Sarkisyan (Spineshank) à la production et mixé par le guitariste de Soulfly et Ex-Machine Head Logan Mader. Entre temps Five Finger Death Punch signe avec le label Firm Music. The Way of the Fist sort finalement en juillet 2007 et atteint la première place du classement Heatseeker américain. Le premier single du groupe The Bleeding passe plusieurs fois par jour sur les radios US et le vidéo clip de la chanson et voté cinquième au Top 5 des Vidéos metal de 2007 sur Headbangers Ball1. Le style de l'album passe du hardcore, au black metal ou encore metal mélodique parfois comparé à System of a Down ou Alice in Chains2. La presse spécialisé compare alors le groupe au début des groupes Disturbed ou Machine Head3 et salut le chant de Ivan Moody, ainsi Chad Bowar de ...
