"Seal (né Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adelo Samuel le 19 février 1963 à Londres, Angleterre) est un auteur-compositeur-interprète anglais. Son registre musical est très varié: pop, rock, soul, house... Né de parents nigérian et brésilien, il entreprend des études d'architecture avant de vivre de petits boulots dans les environs de Londres. Il exerce sa passion pour la musique dans des clubs et des bars avant de rejoindre le groupe Push, dans les années 80. C'est au début des années 90 que le chanteur rencontre ses premiers succès avec "Killer", un titre house qu'il interprète pour le groupe Adamski, puis "Crazy", un single que l'on pourrait qualifier de soul-pop et qu'il a lui-même composé. Ces deux titres sont inclus dans l'album éponyme sorti en 1990. Quatre ans plus tard, Seal sort un deuxième album, portant à nouveau son nom, qui ne connaîtra le succès qu'avec la sortie du single "Kiss from a rose", intégré dans la bande originale du film Batman Forever. En 1998, la sortie de Human Being se solde par un échec. En 2003, alors que l'album Togetherland est abandonné, Seal IV sort dans les bacs. Pour cet opus, Seal a de nouveau collaboré avec Trevor Horn, qui avait notamment travaillé pour Madonna ou Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Trevor Horn et Seal avaient déjà réuni leur talent sur les deux premiers albums du chanteur. Dans la version de Seal IV destinée à la France, un bonus est ajouté: il s'agit du titre "Les mots", que Seal avait interprété en 2001 avec la chanteuse Mylène Farmer. "Les mots" a été un énorme succès, et s'est arraché à plus de 500.000 copies en France. L'album comporte aussi une nouvelle version du titre house "My Vision", qu'il avait interprété pour le groupe Jakatta et qui fut, en 2002, numéro un en ...
