Wendetta 21.75 is another latterly released shooter which tries to show what the Amiga could offer. Fast 3D tunnels and lots of rendered enemies - but does this have the ingredients to be a classic. Production Notes: Ripped: 13 July 2016 Edited: 27-31 Mar 2016 This was the 6th time I tried to rip this game. The first time was aborted after I cut off the stats on the rip. The other 4 tries ended in death on level 2. Originally I intended to launch this as the replacement to Wipeout, after there was no way to get Wipeout running on my system; as it is both a shooter and has 3D elements. But instead I decided to go with Doom as the first game, so this one was pushed back in the order a few times. I was losing hope of being able to cover this game but I saw a longplay on the Deusdaz channel at that time, and I saw where to collect the extra lives to make level 2 easier. From there the rest was a doddle, and too easy if I am honest. This game is mostly show, and the average player will get through it given a few tries, and this means it is less value for money than, say, Battle Squadron. (Take that! Amiga Format). As with most long reviews, it sags in places due to the length of the levels. When playing, you dont notice and just keep going, but in the video its pretty noticeable. It feels very much like an interactive demo disk, and not something you see everyday. Note: I notice the video compression is very bad in the tunnel sequences, even at 1080p. The 720p stream is actually cleaner to view for some reason. The enemy textures have appalling compression over what was recorded, and I can only guess this is youtube.
