Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta est née à New York, Etats-Unis le 28 Mars 1986. On la compare à Madonna, Gwen Stefani ou encore Christina Aguilera. Pourtant Lady GaGa n'a que 22 ans lorsqu'elle connaît la gloire avec son premier album, The Fame. La jolie blonde de New York n'est pas une débutante : elle commence le piano à 4 ans et compose sa première chanson à 14. Puis, fan de pop, rock, électro, elle écume les clubs hype du "Lower East Side" de New York avec des shows bien rodés - djings, danses exhibitionnistes, boules à facettes. Elle n'a pas froid aux yeux et a déjà récolté les fruits de son audace : Lady GaGa (elle a choisi ce nom d'après la chanson "Radio Gaga" de Queen) a déjà collaboré avec de nombreux artistes, et notamment écrit pour les Pussycat Dolls. Fan invétérée de Bowie et Queen, elle conçoit la chanson et la mode comme deux entités indissociables: "Je suis vraiment devenue obsédée par New York, qui nous permet de vivre notre vie comme sur une scène, grâce à la mode [...] même dans la rue, le langage du corps peut permettre à chacun d'auto-proclamer sa propre gloire... Je suis inspirée par la mode si intensément que, lorsque j'écris de la musique, je pense aux vêtements que je porterais quand je la chanterais... Je m'habille vraiment dans ma tête pour créer quelquechose, et crée des choses pour finalement m'habiller". Ainsi, la vie est un théatre pour la belle, qui a signé sur le label d'Akon, "Konlive". Le premier single de l'album "Just Dance", en duo avec Colby O'Donis, fut écouté plus de 400 000 fois sur son MySpace en l'espace de trois semaines. Ensuite, son single "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" sort peu après "Just Dance". L'album, "The Fame" sort en octobre 2008. Sa sortie est suivie par le titre ...
