It was the first time Jörn Heitmann directed a Rammstein video. SONNE, the first single from the album MUTTER is released soon thereafter. Beside the original and an instrumental version of the song, the single contains the track ADIOS and two remixes by Clawfinger. Biography: Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an ensemble of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were injured and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force air show. The literal translation of "Ram Stein" is a battering ram made of stone. Word of Rammstein's horror/romanticist blend of theater and music - spread quickly - one-time Olympic swimmer Till Lindemann would sometimes sing entire songs engulfed in flame from head to toe. The band's first album, HERZELEID (English: Heartache), elaborated on the foundations set by the band's live reputation. Scaling the German charts, and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later, the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Germany/Switzerland/Austria region. As Rammstein's second album, SEHNSUCHT (English: Longing), was released, the band was playing headlines shows across Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people. SEHNSUCHT entered the German charts at number one immediately upon its release and came very close to doing the same in Austria and Switzerland. Within weeks, entries on other countries' charts had SEHNSUCHT rubbing elbows with The Prodigy, Radiohead, and The Rolling Stones on Billboard's cumulative Eurochart. From there the fever spread, transcending any perceived language barrier. MUTTER followed in 2001, REISE, REISE in 2004, and the live collection VOLKERBALL in 2006. Rammstein est un groupe de metal industriel allemand qui a vu le jour en 1994. Sa musique très efficace ainsi que très travaillée, à base de metal et d'électronique, emprunte à d'autres types musicaux, notamment le hard rock, la pop et la techno. En 2006, il est le groupe allemand qui vend le plus d'albums à l'étranger et en Allemagne. Les membres sont originaires de Schwerin (ex-RDA). Ils ont été influencés musicalement par des groupes tels que Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, AC/DC ou encore Einstürzende Neubauten. Ils utilisent d'ailleurs les mêmes sonorités, mélange de lourdes guitares et de samples électroniques, que Oomph!, autre groupe allemand qui connaît parallèlement le succès, mais dont le style diffère de celui de Rammstein. C’est en 1997, avec leur second opus, Sehnsucht, que Rammstein atteint la consécration en Allemagne, puis en Europe, et séduit un public de plus en plus vaste, adepte de leurs concerts spectaculaires. Rammstein se lance alors dans la conquête du marché américain, et, prévoyant, enregistre deux morceaux en anglais. Or, le groupe n’a même pas besoin de changer de langue puisque c’est avec des chansons chantées en allemand que les Berlinois explosent aux USA, aidés cependant par le groupe KoRn qui les convie sur leur show, le Family Values Tour. Aujourd'hui, le groupe est un vrai phénomène de société en Allemagne et dans le monde entier. Plusieurs millions de leurs albums ont été vendus, et Rammstein est le premier groupe de rock allemand et chantant en allemand qui réussisse véritablement à s'imposer partout en Europe, en Amérique (du nord et du sud), en Australie et même au Japon, contrairement à d'autres grands groupes de rock allemand tels que Böhse Onkelz, Die Toten Hosen ou Die Ärzte, ...
