In the sixties there were a number of songs which seemed to appear on "every" orchestral or instrumental album, and one of these tunes is this "Calcutta". Don't ask "why" the tune is called like that, there's no link whatsoever to the place with the same name in India :) The tune was a smash hit for Lawrence Welk in the early sixties and Welk performed it numerous times in his TV-show. Here, master orchestrator Andre Kostelanetz offers us - as usual - an intense orchestration giving proof of a high musicality.
